About Cadence Physical Therapy
Ready to stay injury-free?
Most PT clinics hand runners the same generic plan they'd give to everyone else: rest, ice, a slow return to running. At Cadence Physical Therapy, we don't work that way. We treat runners, triathletes, and endurance athletes exclusively, so every plan is specifically built around your training and goals.
Why Cadence Exists
Megan was already a Doctor of Physical Therapy when she got injured like most runners do. She knew exactly what good care was supposed to look like. She spent a full year trying to find it anyway.
She sat across from clinicians who never once took a hands-on approach with manual therapy. She was cleared to run the moment she could manage three pain-free miles, but she was training for a marathon. She was handed the same worksheet of exercises given to anyone with the same joint pain, and left, more than once, in the care of a high school aide while the physical therapist she'd come to see moved from room to room. No matter how many providers she visited, the pattern held: nobody watched her run. Nobody asked what her training looked like. She was a patient with a joint, not a runner with a body built for mileage.
So she built the practice she couldn't find. Cadence began as an answer to that gap: physical therapy that treats the runner, not just the symptom. And because that idea turned out to matter beyond the clinic walls, it grew. What started as running-specific PT is now a full ecosystem — extending into running and triathlon coaching, and into Club Cadence — every part of it built on the same conviction Megan couldn't find anywhere else: that real expertise in endurance athletes isn't a specialty you add on top of general care. It's the whole point.
Coach Megan Pappalardo
(PT, DPT)
Megan has spent over 10 years as a runner-specific Doctor of Physical Therapy, treating running and triathlon injuries with a clinical, evidence-based approach. She holds a Master's degree in biomechanics — a deeper understanding of how the body wants to move and why it breaks down when it doesn't.
That clinical background is paired with real coaching experience: more than a decade as an RRCA Certified Distance Run Coach and four years as a Head Coach of Track & Field and Cross Country, giving her insight into training load that most physical therapists never see firsthand.
An All World Athlete at the Ironman 70.3 distance with a 2:46 marathon PB, Megan brings the same discipline and precision to her own training that she brings to every patient's recovery.

Our Mission
Our mission is to help you get back to running faster by leveraging our expertise in clinical physical therapy, runner biomechanics, and data, combined with a passion for running.
What We Do
With Cadence, you get runner-focused care that goes beyond symptoms and identifies the root cause of an injury. Whenever it's appropriate, we keep you running instead of pulling you out of training entirely, and we build strength and movement work specifically for the demands of running. Our approach combines hands-on treatment, movement analysis, and strength work designed specifically for runners.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most PT clinics are generalists. They treat post-surgical patients, workplace injuries, pediatric cases, and everything in between. Runners are one item on a very long list.
At Cadence, runners and endurance athletes are the entire list. Every evaluation includes a running-specific assessment. Every treatment plan is built around your training and your race calendar. And every provider understands the demands of the sport at a clinical level, because they live it too.
Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask: "Do I have out-of-network physical therapy benefits, and what is my out-of-network deductible and reimbursement rate?" Most people are surprised by what their plan covers.
We accept HSA and FSA cards, and if you have out-of-network benefits, we'll generate a superbill with everything your insurance needs — all required PT billing codes — so you can submit for reimbursement yourself. We just don't spend your appointment on hold with your insurance company. We spend it on your recovery.
Keep in mind HSA/FSA is spending funds you've already set aside, not money coming back to you — the superbill and out-of-network reimbursement path is the only route where you actually get paid back.
It depends on the nature and severity of your injury and how long it's been present. We're transparent about your progress at every stage and never extend treatment beyond what's clinically necessary. Most runners see meaningful improvement within the first few sessions, and we'll tell you honestly if something requires a longer timeline.
Yes. You can book directly through our website. Appointments are typically available within 1-2 weeks. If you have questions before booking, you're welcome to reach out, and we'll get back to you promptly.
Wear or bring your running shoes and clothing you can move freely in. If you have any relevant imaging (MRI, X-ray), bring that along as well. Otherwise, just show up ready to move. We'll handle the rest.
